Our doctoral students are offered a comprehensive training in all the practical aspects of academic work from teaching competences, academic writing and presentation skills to academic career management expertise.

Discipline: Archaeology

Archaeology offered at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań borders on humanities, natural sciences and social sciences. Its evolution towards genetic, bio- and geoarchaeological sciences can be seen. In our research programmes (including international grants), in which PhD students participate, we implement an international cooperation programme with archaeological centres in Europe and Asia, with particular emphasis on the Mediterranean zone. We specialize in universal archaeology, unlimited by modern borders.

The most important research topics include:

·         cultural development of the European Lowland in the Stone Age and the Early Metal Age,
·         contacts between the people of the Pontic region and the European Lowlands,
·         the links between the Aegean civilisation and Central Europe,
·         archaeology of the ancient Middle East,
